Lesson five — What actually decides how well this goes
Not your Class 10 marks. They matter for a few months, and then almost nobody asks again.
What decides it, over and over:
Whether you finish. A completed diploma beats an abandoned degree, every time, in every field.
Whether you did something beyond the syllabus. The student who built something, ran something, volunteered somewhere or worked a summer is the one who gets asked back. This is true of every road here, not only the technical ones.
Whether you can explain yourself. Nearly every route in this book eventually puts you in front of a person who will decide something about your future based on a conversation. That is a skill you can practise now, for free, by speaking up in class.
Whether you asked for help. The students who struggle most are rarely the least able. They are the ones who decided that asking a teacher for help would look like weakness.
None of the four is decided by your marks. All four are decided by you, starting now.
