Agriculture & Food Processing (NSQF)

Agricultural training is not only for people who will farm family land.

You notice small changes in a field or a plant, you are patient, and you can take a long view. If you are comfortable with animals and unbothered by early hours, dairy is a natural fit.

In the field the work is outdoors and seasonal, with intense weeks at sowing and harvest; in a processing unit it is shift work under strict hygiene rules. Dairy starts before dawn, every day. Input companies and cooperatives employ trained field staff.

Farm income is exposed to weather and prices in ways no course can fix, which is why processing and marketing are often the better place to stand. Food work is heavily regulated, so treat licensing and hygiene records as part of the job.
