B.Sc (MLT / Radiology / Optometry etc.) · 3–4 Years (incl. internship)

In most of these jobs you support the doctor's decision rather than make it.

Machines and procedure interest you, and accuracy satisfies you. Some of these jobs barely meet patients; in dialysis you see the same people for years, and in optometry someone who could not read the board reads it before leaving.

Running analysers and reading slides in a laboratory that works through the night, positioning patients for X-rays and scans, connecting and watching a dialysis session, or laying out instruments and keeping the count in an operating theatre. Shift work is common.

These courses need Biology in PUC; NEET UG is becoming the entrance for several, so check the current list with NCAHP first. Demand is steady, since every hospital needs a laboratory, but in several of these jobs the ceiling comes quickly, so plan a specialisation or a masters.
