Each AYUSH degree is a separate medical system, with its own principles and its own texts.

Long conversations with patients suit you better than quick prescriptions, and you are patient with slow-acting treatment. Three systems teach their texts in another language: Sanskrit for Ayurveda, Arabic and Urdu for Unani, Tamil for Siddha.

Consultations run longer than usual because diet, routine and constitution are assessed; a first homoeopathic case-taking can run an hour. Ayurvedic treatment is often a course of therapy over days or weeks.

These seats need Biology and a NEET UG rank, and each degree takes five and a half years. Check what your state lets an Ayurveda graduate prescribe; Siddha usually means moving to Tamil Nadu; homoeopathy is scientifically contested. Choose a system deliberately, not only because an MBBS seat was missed. Government AYUSH posts are the most predictable work.

Who can apply
Passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English, and qualified NEET UG. Same 50% PCB requirement as MBBS for the general category (40% for SC/ST/OBC).
