Dentistry
BDS · 5 Years (4 + 1 yr internship)
A dentist's daily work is done under magnification, on structures a few millimetres wide.
Fine, exact work holds your attention for hours. You like making things fit exactly, and a patient who walks in with pain and leaves without it feels like a good day's work.
Back-to-back appointments at the chair — fillings, root canals, crowns — often under a microscope, with fine instruments in a small, wet space. A crown can take several visits and handovers to a technician, and each step decides the final fit.
Hours bent over a chair strain back, neck and eyes, so learn good posture and use magnification from the first year. The everyday work, fillings and root canals, is what most patients come in for, so it is what a practice is built on. BDS takes five years with internship, after PUC Biology and a NEET UG rank.
