Veterinary Science

B.V.Sc & A.H. · 5.5 Years (4.5 + 1 yr internship)

Your patient cannot say what is wrong, and for a farmer the animal is a livelihood.

Handling a cow or a buffalo does not frighten you, and you are physically capable. Just as important, you can improvise calmly when the right equipment is not there, as it often is not.

In government service most days are cattle and goat work in villages: farm visits, vaccination drives, disease reporting, surgery on a farm floor. City practice is increasingly pets. Many human diseases come from animals, so you protect people too.

Seats need PUC Biology and are filled from NEET UG merit, and the degree takes five and a half years including a compulsory internship. Most veterinary work in the state is still rural animal husbandry, while city pet practice has grown quickly, so know which you want.
