Design entrance tests judge drawing, observation and reasoning, not a syllabus.

Any stream can apply. It suits you if you take things apart, notice badly made objects, and throw away work you liked once testing shows it fails. Animation wants someone who draws constantly; interaction design, someone curious about why people get confused.

Studio and workshop days: sketching, building rough models, testing with users and revising, with work criticised in front of others. Animators refine a few seconds of movement for days; interaction designers test prototypes, work closely with engineers and defend decisions with evidence rather than taste.

NID offers only a few hundred B.Des seats nationally, so apply to several institutes and start keeping your work now. In animation, a strong showreel from a modest college beats a weak one from a famous college.

Who can apply
Passed Class 12 in ANY stream — Science, Commerce or Arts — usually with 50% aggregate. You do not need Maths or Science for most design programmes.
