Medicine (MBBS)
MBBS · 5.5 Years
Which kind of doctor you become is settled after MBBS, by another entrance exam.
Holding detail in your head comes easily, and you enjoy solving a puzzle from incomplete information. People matter as much as puzzles: much of a doctor's day is explaining findings to a frightened family.
Ward rounds, outpatient clinics and emergency admissions, with night calls in many specialities. Much of the day is fitting scattered findings into one explanation. That work can be in government service, a hospital or your own clinic.
You need Biology in PUC and a NEET UG rank, then five and a half years of MBBS. A speciality means MD or MS, three more years through NEET PG; cardiology adds a DM — well over a decade after Class 12. So choose it because you want to be a doctor.
