The Pharm.D title says doctor, but it does not let you prescribe.

Chemistry was the PUC subject you enjoyed, and you are careful with numbers. Pick a side: the hospital, politely questioning a dose that looks wrong; the laboratory, repeating a procedure until it is exactly right; or the desk, catching the missing detail in a file.

Most industry jobs are in analysis, quality control and process development, or in drug safety and clinical trials. Hospital pharmacists review prescriptions, answer doctors' drug questions and show patients how to take their medicines.

Check the college is approved by the Pharmacy Council of India before paying anything; an unapproved qualification will not register. Bedside hospital posts are fewer than graduates, but drug safety is one of the largest employers of pharmacy graduates, and regulatory affairs one of the most reliably employable paths.

Who can apply
Passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and either Biology or Maths, with English. D.Pharm can be entered directly after Class 12.
