You cannot practise as a clinical psychologist on a bachelor degree.

People already talk to you, and you can listen without rushing to advise. Clinical work needs emotional steadiness and more interest in research method than most applicants expect. Away from clinics, the workplace side suits someone at ease with numbers.

Counselling is sessions one after another, notes between them, and supervision where your own work is examined; clinical therapy runs over many weeks and progress is slow. Workplace psychologists run selection processes and analyse survey data, in jobs usually titled human resources or people analytics.

Practising as a psychologist needs a masters, and clinical work needs an RCI-recognised one, now the MA or M.Psy in Clinical Psychology, where seats are few. Many people calling themselves psychologists hold no recognised qualification, so being properly qualified sets you apart.

Who can apply
Passed Class 12 in any stream; some colleges prefer Science. Clinical practice later requires an RCI-recognised postgraduate qualification.
