BA LLB · 5 Years (Integrated)
In law, reading stamina matters more than dramatic speaking.
If you can read a hundred pages without skipping and spot the problem everyone else missed, corporate law may suit you. Criminal courts ask you to think on your feet and act for a client whose story you find difficult.
Criminal practice happens in trial courts: long waits, hearings put off to another day, bail applications, cross-examination, and early years spent doing a senior's paperwork. Corporate lawyers rarely see a courtroom; they draft, negotiate and check every contract before a deal closes.
You can start after Class 12 (a five-year BA LLB) or after any degree (a three-year LLB); either way, practice needs Bar Council enrolment and its exam. Leading firms recruit heavily from a few national law schools; elsewhere, the way in is in-house teams, compliance and smaller firms.
